Wisdom from Pooh

I love children's books and there is so much wisdom to be found within them. One character I particularly love is Winnie the Pooh and there was a quote of his I came across recently that really spoke to me. It said:
"You can't stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you You have to go to them sometimes."
Wow! For a small bear he's pretty insightful!!
In life, and especially during this time with COVID19, I'm reminded of how easy it is to feel isolated and alone with the lack of connection with others. Social distancing leaves us feeling even more like we have no-one there to support us through what is actually a challenging time, especially if you live alone.
The reality is that we must step out of our corner of the forest, so to speak. We have to make the effort to connect in ways that may not be typical for those important relationships. From texts to phone calls, FaceTime or actual letters, daily connection can make all the difference IF we're willing to reach out.
So today I challenge you to reach out because ultimately, if we sit around and wait for others to be the ones contacting us, we may sit waiting a while. And I DARE you to make a phone call right now to someone who is important to you - or even someone you've not spoken to in a long time!! Get connected and, as Pooh tells us, "go to them" - well, figuratively at least right now!!
You've got this and remember not only will you make the other person feel great, but it will bring a smile your way too!
