Warning Signs and maintenance

So unlike my husband, I am not a car geek! However, I do love the technology that is inside and it's ability to help me with all kind of things. In particular, I love the simple things like the reminders that ding at me to tell me I'm low on washer fluid - yeah, I'm not so great at checking it myself so this makes car maintenance easy!

Here's the thing. When it comes to ourselves, there isn't quite the same easy-peasy system that allows us to recognize when things are not as they should be and so we have to develop our own warning system that helps with our overall maintenance.

First, we need to be in tune with our bodies so we can notice those subtle changes that occur. We have to ensure that all system requirements, such as food and water, provide our body the nourishment it needs - as well as rest so it can recharge.

Next, we must remember to nurture our spiritual growth. For me, that is my connection with God and I have to ensure I schedule regular connection with the Big Guy, using tools such as daily meditation or conversations while I drive in my car!

Finally, we need to develop a way of recognizing when key things start to slip away. For example, are we isolating and not making those important phone calls we need to? Are we staying connected to our friends? Are we ensuring we do the first two steps?

Today I challenge you to look at your life and see if you have all the important components properly maintained and I DARE you to make a list of early warning signs so that, if you need a 'tune-up', you can recognize it sooner than later.

As for me, off for a drive!
