The impact of a note

I recently received an email ... I know, you're probably thinking that's no big deal. But this one was different. You see, someone who'd read one of my books took the time to write to me and let me know what an impact my book had had on her. WOW!!! Even more amazing, this person lives in a completely different country to me and I've never even met them yet, I have made a difference in her life because of something I wrote. I feel honored that they took the time to let me know this and am grateful that my words have truly impacted someone's own journey to recovery.
We never know the impact our words can have, be it in a note, an email, or even in a book. Yet, words are something that can truly make a difference in someone's day and can be re-read over and over to provide a positive message that's needed to be heard. As a child, I remember 'having' to write thank you letters for gifts I received and hated having to take my time to do my 'best' handwriting. Yet, as I look back I can see that my simple words provided a smile to those who'd given me the gift in the first place and were always a welcome gift in return. That is the power of a note!!
And so today I DARE you to pick up a pen and write a note - yes, the old fashioned 'snail mail'!! And when you've written it, put it in the mail to brighten someone's day for your surely will!
Here's to impacting others, even those we've never met ... go on, who's life will you impact today?!!
