Storm preparation

Living in Florida, you become used to preparing for storms - from regular, to tropical, or the occasional Hurricane. You learn to have your essential items always in stock and you keep an eye on the weather so you know if something is on its way. Right now, that's the case with Isaias moving up the coast, although thankfully this will not be one of the bigger ones we've been known to experience.
I sometimes think about that Hurricane preparation plan and wonder what it would be like if we had such a plan for challenges that come our way in life. I know for me, I'd have my list of emergency numbers - folks to check on and in case I need to reach someone. I would have my box of essentials to help me stay as calm as I can in an emergency - lavender oil, coloring items, affirmation cards, and a favorite book to read. Finally, I know I would have my faith and the belief in the Big Guy Himself to help during those dark times.
What would yours look like? What things would you need to have close to hand to ensure you safely navigated a crisis situation? I DARE you to make a list and even create a box of things that you know would help bring a sense of calm when you needed it most. Maybe it would have your favorite tea in there, a blanket to wrap around yourself to provide the feeling of a hug, or maybe you'd have some of the things I mentioned such as a coloring book or a candle of your favorite scent.
Go on. Create your 'crisis preparation' kit today so that the next time you need it, you'll have it ready to go. Hopefully, that won't be for a long time but it's always good to be prepared!!
