Simple treasures

It's that time of year when I get to go the beach and hunt for shark teeth. I'm in heaven being by the ocean and the breeze that gently blows ashore adds to my contentment!! Today I was looking for teeth and came across 3 fairly large ones to add to my collection - well, the largest I've found to date anyway!! I felt like I'd struck gold and was thrilled to put them safely in my pocket.

I was reminded today not only of the pleasure in simple things but how seeking shark teeth requires patience and perseverance, not something that I'm always blessed with!! Also, in seeking them out you have to be aware that you may only find a small amount - kind of like the needle in the haystack so to speak. Yet, the looking and finding just one is worth the reward! In life we sometimes forget that just one tiny step can propel us forward in an amazing direction and just as finding that one tooth is like striking gold, so too is that step. With patience and perseverance we journey forward and eventually the steps add up to many.

So today I DARE you to take a tiny step and fill it with patience and perseverance. Remind yourself that in moving forward just one little bit with something you've been putting off, you will be moving in a forward motion and that is called progress!!

Go on, get going ... today is the day you CAN and WILL do it!!
