Self-care ... yes, for YOU!!

I typically try to write blogs so they're ready to go at 6:00 am. As you know, I not a morning person by choice, even though I'm usually up, and so I schedule it to post for me. However, last night I was tired. I also had no words in my mind. And so instead, I did what was good for me - I lay in bed and read an awesome book!! Yes, you read that correctly - I practiced self-care and realized that even if the blog was late going up, that was ok because it would still happen.
Typically for me, it can be hard to remember to put myself first and I try to do everything for others first. Anyone relate? The reality is, though, that unless we practice self-care at some point in our day we will lose the energy and zest needed to keep going for others. By taking a little time for ourselves, we gain a whole lot more for those we want to give to.
Self-care. Not easy to practice yet essential to do!! And so today's DARE is .... you guessed it .... to practice self-care!! Yes, I DARE you to take 15 whole minutes and do something just for you. And no, that's not selfish, it's something you deserve!! In those 15 minutes go take a walk, sit outside with a cup of coffee, or even take a nap because you know what? You're worth it!!!
I'm kinda grateful I didn't write this last night because the words hadn't come to mind yet and now, after practicing self-care, I was able to come up with a blog this morning that reinforced the fact I'd made the right choice. See - self-care gives back abundantly!!! Go for it and enjoy your 15 minutes just for you!!
