Running on empty

I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. John 15:5

Have you ever jumped in your car to begin a journey, only to look down and find that your out of gas? There's nothing worse than that and invariably it happens at a time when you are in a hurry to get somewhere!!

Our cars aren't the only things that require gas though. We often forget that our bodies need 'gas' and sure, we remember to re-fuel with food but we need more. If we forget to fuel our spiritual selves and connect to God, we find ourselves losing who we are and what we believe in. We're connected to Him, intertwined with Him, and "without [Him] [we] can do nothing".

So today, what are you doing to keep your connection to the Big Guy and to refuel your spiritual needs? I DARE you to take a few minutes and strike up a conversation with Him and allow yourself to feel His presence flow through you. Remember, God tells us "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit" and it is our connection with Him that allows us to feel enriched in our lives.

Oh, and just in case you need to, why not go for a car ride and fill up your car with gas - what a perfect time to have that conversation with God and get yourself filled up too!!!
