Look in the mirror

In the midst of my eating disorder, I avoided looking into mirrors at all cost. I was willing to look in them to fix my hair and make up, but full body-length mirrors were a definite no go!! And yet, had I dared to peek, what I would have seen was the beautiful reflection that was staring back at me - something I know God created in His image.

Looking at young kids, we wouldn't dream of telling them they were ugly, failures, or other such derogatory statements. No, we boost them up and remind them of what awesome human beings they are. So why do we find telling ourselves the same thing? We were that little child once and we haven't changed that much .... well, other than maybe a few more grey hairs!!

So today I DARE you to find a mirror and tell that beautiful being that she is amazing, strong, courageous, and wonderful. And yes, I am sure negative Nancy will try to ride along and be mean but don't listen to her lies. The reality is, YOU are truly amazing and there is only one of you - that makes you irreplaceable!!
