So as I shared, there has been much excitement in my classroom as the students try their hand at solving the Rubik's cube. Not to be outdone, I decided to join in the fun and this weekend have been mastering the art of solving it! I am proud to say I can now officially solve a Rubik Cube, albeit with a few key codes to help in the final stages. I'm not quite ready for speed cubing competition but feel quite accomplished that I can solve it!
There's something about being given a challenge and having to solve it. It's a riddle that is waiting for us to figure out key pieces that will allow us to break the code. We have to have patience, perseverance, and determination to work it out - with a little luck along the way thrown in!!
The best part of this journey called life is it can, in some ways, be thought of as a riddle when we are faced with challenges. We have to ask ourselves what key things do we need to solve our problem. If needs be, we can have a 'cheat sheet' to remind us of things that make a difference - remember the Pocket Perseverance from my first book?
So today I DARE you to create your cheat sheet if you don't have the Pocket Perseverance. Create a list of important phone numbers, things that help, and friends you can turn to when you are faced with a problem. And then, of course, you need to remember to use them - that always being the most challenging!
Life is not meant to be done by ourselves. Reach out to a friend, use tools to help, and know that you will solve all the problems you are faced with step by step ... even if the outcome isn't quite as perfect as a completed cube!
