It's a donkey kind of thing!

Meet Samson! Yes, he's the cutest miniature donkey who I got to hang out with today!! He was pretty amazing, so gentle, and loved nothing more than a hug! So why was I hanging out with him? Well, you see the horse that I was riding, Bullet, is big buddies with Samson and they don't like to be apart from one another! Wherever Bullet trotted, Samson followed right along - the entire ride for about an hour! I guess that's the gift of friendship.

Animals teach us all kinds of things and today I was reminded about that gift of friendship. For whatever reason, these 2 animals did not want to be apart and haven't for the last 2 weeks. And the gift of a good friend is that they're there when you need them, right by your side walking the journey with you. My. grandmother used to say that friends are like gold ... they're precious and valuable and should be cherished. I would agree!!

And so today I DARE you to reach out to a friend and remind them about how much they mean to you. Check in on them and see if they need anything, if they need you to walk beside them through a challenging time or maybe just be there to share in the laughter. Whatever they need, the gift of a friend is they'll be there no matter what.

So here's to friends, whether it be a donkey and a horse, or the human kind!
