I am Worthy

Those who look to Him are radiant: their faces are never covered with shame. Psalm 34:5

One of my favorite sights is a palm tree standing tall and majestic against the backdrop of an orange and pink sunrise. Stop and think about that for a moment. Do you see it? Beautiful isn’t it?!! Palm trees don’t know their own beauty and simply are. They stand there in all their glory, looking up to the sky and embracing the morning light. They don’t shrivel up, bend down, or shrink to the ground. So why is it that we can’t follow their lead? We were created in His image, just as those palm trees were and yet somehow we don’t own our magnificent selves. Instead, we allow guilt, anger, pain, and more to inflict their shame upon us and wilt away into the darkness. Imagine for a moment what it would be like to stand tall like those palm trees. Can you? Feel your shoulders push back and your head raising up as you look upward. YOU are amazing and beautiful and as this verse reminds us, “those who look to Him are radiant: their faces never covered with shame”. What can you do today to remind yourself that you are truly worthy of His love? God blessed us with His unconditional love and the only thing He asks in return is that we believe in who we are. Sure, easier said than done, AND not impossible with Him. So today I challenge you to look up to the sky and remember that as you do so, His love is radiating down. And I DARE you to hold your head up high, with arms out wide, and yell “I am worthy” ... because you are!!
