I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. Psalm 9:1
This morning my children were eating a snack and watching The Berenstein Bears. As I cleaned up, I loved what I heard - they were talking about counting their blessing, things such as their house to live in and keep them warm, the food they had, basically simple things that we so often take for granted.
Of course, it got me thinking and I couldn't help but think about some of the things I was grateful for which, right now when we're struggling with our fun new way of life, can be hard to do. Do you know what? The more I thought about it, the more I was able to come up with things and so many were tied back to God. As such, it's important to remember to "give thanks to you, Lord, with all [our] heart".
Sometimes in saying thank you we forget to add the most important part though - the part where we truly say thanks for what we're grateful for and maybe why.
So today I challenge you to begin making a list of all those things, big and small, that you're grateful for - you could even share some of them here in the comments because, after all, we're reminded to "tell of all [God's] wonderful deeds". I DARE you to see if you can make a list of 100 things you are grateful for and before you tell me I'm crazy, I'll give you one or two to start!!
- I'm grateful I woke up this morning so I could enjoy another day
- I'm grateful I could take a shower this morning to feel clean
- I'm grateful I had food to nourish me
- I'm grateful for my eyes, they allow me to see my kids
- I'm grateful for my fingers, they allow me to type this blog
See - already gotcha started so what are you waiting for?!! Can't wait to see some of your gratitudes here!!
