Graduation

So yesterday was a big day in our house. Our youngest graduated from VPK!! I have to admit, I had a few tears in my eyes as we did the drive-thru ceremony - not because it was different from the way it was 'supposed' to be, but because my little girl is growing up so fast!
Life has a habit of going by in the blink of an eye and we sometimes don't stop to recognize the achievements or victories along the way. I think in part it's because we feel like there should be big flashing lights or something to prove we had some sort of accomplishment and yet, the reality is even the tiniest of steps can be worthy of a celebration!
So today I challenge you to make note of any and ALL successes you have in your day. Oh, and before you start listening to that voice that is telling you that you never have any successes, just a reminder that we're talking 'tiny' not 'giant' successes - even beginning with the fact you got out of bed to begin your day! I DARE you to write a list all day long and at the end of the day, look back and celebrate every single thing you managed to do! Remember, sometimes even making a phone call you've been putting off, folding the laundry, or emptying the dishwasher count as successes.
As for me, I'm enjoying the excitement in my 5 year old as she realizes she's officially a 'big kid' going to Kindergarten - the sheer joy is contagious!!
