I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. Psalm 139:14
So if you could travel anywhere right now, where would you go? Would you go to a far away beach or the mountains? Would you want to have someone wait on you hand and foot or the independence to do exactly what you wanted when you wanted? During this recent lockdown, it has been a challenge, as I'm sure you'd agree. Seeing the same four walls, the same scenery, and not being able to venture out has definitely caused some periods where mood has become lower and we wonder if it will ever change.
This weekend, however, I was blessed with the opportunity to have a change of scenery and wow, what a refreshing change it was and a stark reminder of the beauty that God has painted around us. The view from the porch was not only beautiful because of the nature right before my eyes, but it also reminded me that no matter what is going on in my life, "I am fearfully and wonderfully made" for God has created wonderous works everywhere, including me!
So today I challenge you to take five minutes and go sit outside, with your eyes closed, and imagine you have traveled to the location of your choice. I DARE you to picture in your mind you sitting there, enjoying the view, and remembering how you too are "fearfully and wonderfully made" and even though this time is a challenge, you can and WILL get through it. You could even dig out a photo of the place you're picturing so that you can picture it and see it before you. You're sure to find it refreshes you and reminds you of what your soul knows, for "your soul knows it very well" that God has painted a glorious scene of the canvas of the world and of you.
As for me, time to get back to enjoying my mountain view from the porch. Life is good .... go on, go live it!
