Give away your worries

"Give all your worries to God, for He cares about you". 1 Peter 5 - 7

So let's be real. As much as we can seek out and view the positives of lock down - and yes, I'm not crazy - there are some!!, after more than two months of a restrictive lifestyle it is getting tough. Things I never thought I'd long for, like grocery shopping or a trip to Target, are forgotten excursions I long for! The worry of whether we are going to catch the virus or not lingers constantly and fear likes to creep in and stay a while - uninvited or not!

This weekend, however, we took a trip and it has been such a blessing and welcome break. I truly think God was watching over the whole thing and has given several signs to remind us that He is there with us and we were meant to do this.

At my friends home, she had this beautiful magnet on her fridge. The verse was such a great reminder that I do not have to hold on to the worry of these times and, coupled with the beautiful scenery I'm enjoying, I truly am releasing my worry this weekend and feel relaxed and refreshed.

God promises and remind us "give all your worries and cares to [Me], for [I] care about you" and so, I DARE you to do just that. What are you worried about today? What do you need to let go of just for today? And once you've decided, go sit outside and breathe in the fresh air and as you blow out, release that worry to God and let Him take it from there.

Life is not easy and that's even more the case right now, AND God doesn't want or expect you to get through it alone. He will remind you that He's right there with you - just as He did for my family this weekend.

Here's to letting go and handing it over to God. Go on, you've got this!!!
