There's been a lot of sad news lately and it can be hard during those times to remember that there is still good in the world. I don't know about you, but I question a lot and don't always understand the reason things happen. Yet, even though I get angry and my faith waivers, I always know that there is a reason and eventually I'll understand what it is.
My faith in the Big Guy is strong AND I still get mad at Him when these sad things happen. But, He knows that I don't hold grudges and doesn't let go of me during those times. He waits patiently and trusts that I'll find my own understanding and will always return to Him.
So how do we navigate those tough times? What reminds us of that hope that is always there, even though it's hidden? Well, for me it's the subtle signs in nature, one of my favorites being the sunrise. You see, even though the night is dark and can remind us of that despair, every day light appears and is brilliant and beautiful and for me, a signal of hope. We can always find light and happiness, even out of darkness.
Today, therefore, I DARE you to hold on to hope. Turn your light on in the darkness, get up early and watch a sunrise, and know that whatever you are going through today, you will in your own time find peace and joy again. There is no time promised, only that hope WILL come again and so trust and lean on others until you find it for yourself.
