Courage

When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you Psalm 30:6

Living in Florida, we are surrounded by all things Disney. The magic and smiles are contagious and certainly, when you go on some of the rides, you need courage for all the twists and turns that you'll encounter. It's amazing to think that the park almost never happened but I guess the quote Walt is known for shows the courage and determination that he had - "All our dreams can come true if we have the COURAGE to pursue them". WOW. That's all it takes?!!

I know, you can swipe at your computer now! Sounds simple for sure and yet, digging deep to find that courage is far from it AND is totally possible.

In the Bible, we are find many verses about courage - I guess God is trying to remind us that He will be there with us if we trust in Him and dig deep for that courage. One of my particular favorites is Psalm 53:6, "When I am afraid I will trust in You". God doesn't say just face any fear on your own but instead invites us to trust in Him when we're facing fear in the face. What a gift and blessing that is, knowing we don't have to do any of this crazy life with all its twists and turns by ourselves.

So today I challenge you to go dig in the Bible and find a verse about courage - but don't stop at one! I DARE you to dig through and find several to write them down on a card and place it in your wallet. The next time you are afraid and could use a little bit of courage, talk to the Big Guy Himself and then read your verses as a tangible reminder that He's with you and you've got this!!
