Broken Crayons

"Broken Crayons still color"

As I think I've shared before, I have an app. on my phone that is set up to send me quotes throughout the day - both general quotes and some from the Bible. The cool part is that it's linked up to my watch and so no matter what I'm in the middle of doing, I can read them. Here's the thing, I truly believe that the universe - or in my case the Big Guy - knows when I need something and I often find the perfect quote pops up at exactly the right time.

This morning, the quote that popped up was one was pretty simple and yet spoke to me so much about what I've been through in the last several months. You see, at the turn of the New Year, I was not in the best of places and felt like a broken crayon. Yet, through hard work, support, and encouragement I am finding my way forward and even though there is work to be done, I can still color!!

I often talk about how in the midst of darkness, there is still hope if we look for it and this quote kind of reminds me of that. Just because we feel 'broken' does not mean we are broken. Even if you melt down all the crayons and then mix it up and let it harden, the result is still a crayon that WILL color!!

What are you struggling with today? It may be something big or just a small dilemma that you're trying to figure out. Either way, I DARE you to go get some crayons and begin to color and as you do, remind yourself that you are not broken and will find a solution. Besides, as you relax and color your mind will undoubtedly free up so you can more easily figure out a solution!!

As for me, I'm off to do coloring of a different kind - my hair. LOL - just because I have 'white' hair does not mean I'm broken, just means I'm getting old!! ;)
