Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phillippians 4:6-7
So if you've ever experienced anxiety, you'll know how debilitating it can be. And even if you've only experienced the uneasy feeling of butterflies when you're doing something like a new job interview or waiting for results of something, you'll know exactly what I'm referring to.
This week, I got to experience just that and it's amazing how quickly we forget to turn to the Big Guy during times like this and attempt to control things ourselves. Yet, the reality is that no matter what we face, when we try to manage the outcome instead of trusting the process, we become easily overwhelmed and lose site of the end goal.
God reminds us "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.", going on to remind us that "the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
After a few days of trying to manage things myself, today I took deep breaths and handed it over and amazingly got to experience that peace in a way I had not anticipated. Yes, God is good!!
So today I challenge you to give up the steering wheel, sit back in the passenger seat, and let God do His thing. Granted, you may not see the results immediately but trust in the process because He WILL answer your prayers. And I DARE you to write down one thing that you've been holding on to and hand it over, if needs be burning the piece of paper so you realize you truly are handing over to God.
Go on, you can do this - promise!!!
