GAS!!!!!!

So last week we had a visit from the fire department!! Don't worry, all is fine and no damage occurred! The thing was, our gas alarm went off and so we had to call them to get it checked and make sure we were safe.

The thing about gas is that you can't see it. You know it's there because of the smell, (well most of the time), yet you have no idea where it's crept into and what damage it may be causing. Pretty scary when you think about it but here's the thing. You can't see it yet you know it's there ... well, and thanks to an alarm we know for sure. We trust in that alarm or smell and want to ensure we do all we can to keep everyone safe.

It can be hard to trust in things we can't see. Take the Big Guy, for example. Sometimes it can be tough to believe that He is up there, a presence in our lives, and watching out for us always! Doubt creeps in because we don't see the tangible ... or is it there and we don't see it?

There's no big alarm that sounds off to tell us God is present but I know when I pay attention, I notice the signs that He's there. For example, yesterday I was taking my son to an appointment and was kinda anxious. As I got out of the car, my watch began playing a song, the title of which was 'breathe'. There it was, my alarm to show that God was with me! Sure, it wasn't a piercing shrill like our gas alarm, but it was a subtle way of reminding me that He was with me and not to worry.

So today I DARE you to pay attention to your subtle alarms that show God is with you. He will give you signs and remind you that He is ever-present and watching over you. Trust and believe it ... it's true!! And while this may not seem like a tangible thing to do, I promise that if you pay attention, you really will get your own gas alarms going off ... or rather 'God alarms' that remind you He is with you every step of the way!
